YOUR WORK STAYS YOURS
Privacy policy
Effective date: 7 October 2026 · Android app and website
Your creativity and privacy belong together. Here's how Editlezz keeps your information in your hands.
Who is responsible
Editlezz (Android package app.editlezz) is provided by Pavel Dmitriev, also known as kommentlezz. For privacy questions, contact support@editlezz.com. Website: https://editlezz.com.
Your editing stays on your device
Editlezz edits and exports media, recognizes speech, translates subtitles, and processes audio on your device. This version works exclusively through local processing, with your videos, photos, recordings, subtitles, projects, and usage activity kept on your phone. You can use the complete editor directly, with your personal information kept private and fully in your control.
Information the app accesses locally
You choose the videos, photos, audio, subtitle files, fonts, templates, and project archives that Editlezz can access through Android's file picker or sharing tools. These selections can include file names, media metadata, locations, and content. The app uses this information to import, preview, edit, caption, translate, and export your work. Access stays scoped to the files you select. A file provider you choose, such as a cloud drive, may download a selected file under that provider's own privacy policy.
Microphone
You control microphone access. When you choose to record a voice-over, the app requests microphone permission and saves the recording locally for editing. Android Settings lets you manage that permission at any time. Editing existing files works independently of microphone permission.
Local storage and reports
Your device stores projects, edit history and branches, subtitles, imported files, voice-overs, templates, preferences, thumbnails, audio analysis, preview files, translation caches, and optional performance or export reports. Reports can include device and codec details, timings, project information, and file references. You choose when and how to share them. Android's application sandbox protects app-private storage; exported videos and documents use your selected destination or the system media library. Exported files rely on the access controls and encryption provided by that destination and your device.
Sharing and other services
Sharing begins with your choice. When you share a video, subtitle, template, project backup, or diagnostic report, Android passes your selected content to the app or destination you choose. That recipient's privacy practices apply. A project backup can include source media and edit history, so review its contents before sharing. Email support receives the message and attachments you choose through your email provider. Share the information you feel comfortable providing to support.
Retention and deletion
You control how long your work stays on your device. Deleting a project removes its project data and history while preserving your original media and previously exported copies; reusable imported media and caches may remain. Some temporary files and caches are cleaned automatically. Android Settings lets you clear all app-private storage, and uninstalling removes app-private data. Save a project backup first when you want to keep your work: clearing storage permanently removes that local data. Manage exported files and backups separately through Android Files, your gallery, or their saved destination. Project transfer and recovery use the explicit backups that you create. All app data management happens locally.
Support correspondence
When you email us, we receive your email address, message, and chosen attachments. Their use is limited to responding to your request, resolving your support needs, and meeting applicable legal obligations. We retain correspondence for the time those purposes require. You can request deletion at support@editlezz.com. Email and hosting providers may process correspondence to deliver the service.
Google Play and Android
Google Play distributes the app and its offline models. Google and your device provider may independently process download, purchase, security, crash, or diagnostic information under their own settings and privacy policies. Those providers operate their respective services. Offline models arrive with installation; captioning and translation keep your media on your device.
Children
Editlezz is a general-purpose creative tool for a broad audience. Its features center on private, on-device editing, with sharing handled through destinations you select. App content and personal information stay local. Contact support if you believe a child has shared personal information with us through email so we can help address it.
Future changes
This policy describes this version of Editlezz. Any future introduction of ads, network services, or different data practices will be accompanied by updated privacy information, Play disclosures, and required consent controls before activation. Material changes will be explained in the app or release information. The effective date above identifies this policy version.
